Lil Bibi becomes a BIG girl today

When we love someone,
especially our own sibling,
we would do anything to our biggest capacity to protect them from harm
be it physically or emotionally...
We give them our wise advice and hope that they'll follow them...
And when they ridicule us,
we would say that they're disrespectful...

I have my own taste of such experience
with my own lil sis....
I tried to protect her to the extent
where she felt that i'm controlling her...
or even being kaypo...
there were also times where she would tell me
that its none of my business...
Anyone who's a parent or even an elder sibling
wud know how much it hurts when your loved one tell u such a thing...

Today,
my lil Bibi turns 21...
She's an adult now (by law)
I realize that there has to be a time where we shud learn to let go...
And i blif the time is now...
I think
it's time that i move on from an over-protective sis
to a friend who'll always be there for her...

So Bibi,
You are a free person now...haha...
but be good ya!!
Happy 21st Birthday!!!
Love you always.

Not easy being a good person...

As i started off 2009,
i was quite determined to increase my capacity for others
in as many ways as i am able to....

In the beginning,
I tried to say 'yes' to as many ppl who asked help from me...
I felt that if i was able to lend a hand in little ways,
soon people might see the difference in me...
It was easy at first...
But as time goes by,
I realize it is quite difficult to be a good person all the time...
In fact, it can be tiring too..
How on earth can Mother Theresa be so patient?
It is seemingly impossible in my current situation..
Especially when you know ppl are taking you for granted...
They hope to get everything they need from you
and then give nothing in return...
Not even a simple 'Thank You'...
As much as i want to help,
all i hope for in return is a simple note of appreciation
A simple 'Thank you' will do....
But that has not been the case...
Its quite discouraging
and its only the 2nd month of the year!!
I really do not want to fail my resolution...

So tell me, how am i supposed to respond to such situations?
sigh

You had me at Hello

Warning : This post may contain words which may be too cheesy for some of you. Please read at your own risk. Not advisable for those with heart complications or respiratory distress.

To my Dearest,

Thank you for the effort you have put
into making our first Valentine the best it can be
The little poem you wrote really meant a lot to me...
(yes, the bracelet too...hehe..)
Never knew u can be romantic...hehe...=P

Thank you for bringing out the best in me...
For being patient with me when i get Emo..
For laughing even at my lame jokes...
For bringing my focus back to God whenever i'm confused...
For being there always whenever i need someone to fall back on...
For letting me know that you'll do whatever you can as we walk through this journey together..

Most of all,
Thank you for choosing God to be above everything else....
You are truly a blessing in my life...

Dear,

'You had me at Hello'

Kids these days...

I was in my room surfing the net when i overheard my 4-year-old cousin, Shaun quarreling with my 80-year-old Grandpa. Grandpa wanted to watch Astro while Shaun wanted to play PS2. Everytime Grandpa tries to switch the television to astro, Shaun would shout " Caaannnnootttttt!!!!" at poor Grandpa. This went on for a few minutes.

Hearing the commotion, I went outside to give Shaun a lecture on how rude it is to shout at the elderly. Also, I was going to persuade him to let Grandpa watch his Hokkien show on Astro Channel 333.

Me : Shaun, can you let Ah Kong watch astro please?

Shaun : Cannot!

Me : Why not?

Shaun : Ah Kong watch too much tv dee!!

(haha...so keewwttt)

Even when Shaun leaves the tv to watch my other cousin playing computer games, he wouldn't let Grandpa watch the astro. This little kid would keep an eye on the tv from far. Knowing Shaun wouldn't let him switch the tv to astro, Grandpa still continued teasing Shaun by pretending to switch off his PS2. Shaun pointed his finger at poor Grandpa shouting "Cannot touch!!"

After 15 minutes of driving the car knocking into every obstacles in the game, Shaun finally gave up and gave in to Ah kong. He plugged off all the PS2 wires and plugged in the Astro decoder wires himself for Ah Kong.

Haha...

Kids these days!!
